Rhythms of the Diaspora is a community-based Roots music festival that celebrates the music, art, culture and foodways of the African diaspora. This festival brings together musicians, artists, farmers, foodies, and music and art lovers from across the East Coast. Through this festival, attendees get the opportunity to both enjoy the music and art of local and national artists and create their own art and music through interactive workshops.  Based in the agricultural zone of Southern Maryland, the festival honors the foodways of the diaspora by crafting a festival menu that highlights the foods of West Africa, the Caribbean and the Americas, sourcing food from local farmers and supporting our local economy. The support of sponsors ensures that we can provide a high quality experience, compensate independent artists, musicians and local farmers well and keep ticket costs affordable for our community.
